I went to camp Santa Maria.
I imagined it was going to be a smaller area and not so many kids. It wasn’t what I imagined tho it was a nice big area filled with cabins, basketball court, and the pool, and fun hiking spots, and there were lots of other kids.
I was nervous about being so far away from home for so long.
Some  of the activities I did was rock climb, swim, and hike.  My favorite activity was arts and crafts.
We  had six bunks in the cabin and I got a top bunk I slept pretty well for the most part.  We had normal meals like we would every day for breakfast one day we had cereal and then we had eggs and bacon and pancakes.  And for lunch one day we had tacos and then one night for supper we had corn dogs and french fries. We woke up at 7:15 and got ready then went to breakfast then after that we had the cabin clean up which was when we had to tidy up our cabin because  counselors will go around and look at each cabin and you earn points if you get a good score.
Then after that we would start our activities then we would have lunch at 12 o’clock then we would finish our activities and that took up most of the time till supper then we would have supper at 6 o’clock then after that we went back to the cabin to get warm clothes if the camp activity was outside. One night for the camp activity we played zombie tag. Then after our camp activity we would go back to our cabin and get ready for bed like for example take showers get pajamas on brush teeth etc.
I learned how to rock climb. There was about 120 other campers most of them are all from around Colorado. There were about 20 counselors. My favorite part was getting to know all the counselors because they were all from different places like London, Michigan, and some  were from Colorado. My least favorite part was some of the CIT‘s (counselors in training)  because sometimes they weren’t very nice.
It was a very nice learning experience but I probably won’t want to do something like that again because I didn’t like how far away from home I was  for so long.
